I have chosen bloodstone as the primary gemstone for Aries to encourage positive expression of the Aries characteristics. Bloodstone is the stone of courage and provides protection, calming and confidence in difficult situations. It helps to reduce impatience and aggressive tendencies and enhances decision making in a positive way. It also helps to boost the immune system. In the past it was used to regulate blood flow and was worn in battle. Bloodstone was also said to give the wearer clairvoyant abilities.
Secondary – Red Jasper
Red jasper is similar to bloodstone in its properties as it promotes courage, willpower and energy but it also reduces stress caused through conflict. Red jasper also encourages independence, physical energy and survival. It can help dream recall and give protection during astral travel due to its strong connection with the earth.
Opposite – Aventurine
Aventurine promotes balanced thinking by encouraging you to weigh up the possibilities before taking action. This is important for Aries as they are prone to being headstrong and impatient. It also provides emotional stability, creativity, optimism, determination, enthusiasm, tolerance, healing and protection from stressful situations. Aventurine reinforces successful decision making as well as being good for attracting luck, money and generally helping dreams come true. It also balances male and female energies which is good for Aries which can be an overly masculine sign. It is also a good stone for teenagers where puberty creates a surge of hormones. This is the primary gemstone for Libra.
